Hisamitsu Pharmaceuticals, in partnership with AffiniTea Races, spearheaded for the first time ever in the Asia Pacific the Salonpas Run held at SM By the Bay on January 13, 2018.
Salonpas is the pioneering brand when it comes to pain relief patches and topical treatment. For 82 years now, it has been the top choice provider for combating aches with its outright efficacy. First introduced to Asia, Salonpas is now widely recognized in 50 countries around the world.
The activity, which is in line with Hisamitsu’s mission to promote healthy lifestyle among the global community, successfully gathered 2,200 participants consisting of health advocates, athletes, fitness and sports enthusiasts, among others.
The fun run covered four categories, namely 3K, 5K, 10K, and 21K distances. Finishers of respective categories received a Finisher’s Medal, and those who ran for 21K got an additional Finisher’s Shirt.
Prior the gun time, participants were asked to perform Salonpas own warm-up routine, Taiso, to stretch their muscles and prepare their body for the stress and vigorous actions that running could bring them. After the race, a body combat demo led by Fitness First RCBC Platinum was conducted.
Raffle prizes were also given to lucky participants. The winners received special gifts from the generous sponsors including shoes from Minuzo, Garmin GCs, Resorts World Chitty Bangbang tickets, Mercury Drug GCs, and a brand new washing machine from Sharp.
Among the other sponsors are Mogu Mogu, Dole Food Company, Pocari Sweat, Fitbar, Nature’s Spring, Old Town White Coffee, Omizu, Mizuno, Milcu, Fitness First, Resorts World Manila, Sharp, Maynilad, Garmin, and Tong Garden.

Due to the success of the first Asia Pacific leg, Hisamitsu announced another Salonpas Run leg which will be launched in Cebu City during the 3rd quarter of this year.
